Affiliation Agreements

What is an Affiliation Agreement?

An Affiliation Agreement is a legal agreement between Bloomsburg University, a potential internship site, and the state system. An Affiliation Agreement between Bloomsburg and a potential employer must be in place before eligible students can complete an internship with an organization.

All existing active Affiliation Agreements are on the Bloomsburg internship web site.  Search the Active Affiliation Agreement List for the organization in question.

No Affiliation Agreement?  If there is not an Active Affiliation Agreement for the company, fill out the "Request for Affiliation Agreement" and press submit button. The request will go to Internship Office, Affiliation Agreements.

Request an Affiliation Agreement

The student must bring the following information to you so you can request an Affiliation Agreement be sent to the organization for signature:

  1. Name of the organization,
  2. Mailing address
  3. Contact person and Title
  4. Email
  5. Phone number

After you initiate that process of getting the Affiliation Agreement signed, it can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks to get a signed Affiliation Agreement back.

It is best to start this process as soon as the student is thinking about an internship.  Students can request an Affiliation Agreement be sent out even if the student does not do the internship with that organization.

After the Affiliation Agreement is returned, signed by the organization, we will notify the student, instructor, chair and deans office by email that we have a signed Affiliation Agreement.

Students can fill out Section I of the 509 Internship Form once the internship is set and there is an Affiliation Agreement on file.  See the "509 Internship Form" tab for more information about the 509 process.
