About Internships
An academic internship is a supervised, planned, learning experience in a work environment, taken for academic credit.
Internships may vary in both duration and compensation. While paid internships attract more applicants, other forms of compensation such stipends packaged with a quality work experience is another way to attract students for unpaid internships.
Some organizations can’t afford pay or stipends but the type of project and high-level of responsibility associated with the internship makes the internship attractive to students.
- Each intern is assigned to a faculty member with over 105 faculty members supervising.
- Internships are available in over 40 academic programs.
- Students can earn 3 semester credit-hours per experience
- Over 1,800 organizations have active Affiliation Agreements with Bloomsburg University
